Richard S. Johnson fired a seven-under 63 Thursday and has a one-stroke lead after the first round of the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee thanks in part to an ace on the par-three 14th.

The British Open Championship kicked off Thursday at Royal Birkdale, one of 14 courses that have hosted the Open Championship. All 14 are links courses, as so ordered by the Championship Committee.
